Be sure to give them an initial cut (about 2.5 to 3 cm) on 45 degree angle to prevent them from sitting flat at the base of the container filled with fresh clean cool water. Remove any leaves which may make contact with the water as the leaves promote bacteria and speed up decay. Recut the stems every 2-3 days with clean & sharp scissors and replace the water.
