Hydrangeas need lots of water!! Remove as many unwanted leaves as possible and be sure to give the stem a cut on a 45 degree angle under water and consider cross cuts at the base of the stem/cutting up through its center about 0.5 inch up to increase surface area. Place the hydrangeas in a clean container with plenty of warm water (avoid metal containers as hydrangeas react negatively). Allow hydrangeas to fully hydrate (2-3 days) before using floral foam/Oasis and ensure the foam/Oasis is at maximum water level at all times. If your heads start to drop or droop, try the hot water trick; 1) recut stem as directed above 2) submerge the fresh cut in hot boiling water for 20-30 seconds 3) immediately place the stem back in clean cool water. The blooms should revive back in a few hours. This should unblock the stem and help the flow of water back up to the blooms.

Hydrangea-Shocking Blue 6″

Hydrangea Shocking Blue 6 – One of the most popular cut flowers (can also be dried), Hydrangea Shocking Blue 6 come in a vast array of colors, however, white, blue, and pink varieties are widely grown and available by our South American farms. Most of the colored varieties are created by altering the soil’s acidity and aluminum content. Our colored Hydrangea Shocking Blue 6 are sprayed at the farm in the particular color as requested. It’s good to note, they are sprayed when the hydrangea blooms are not fully opened. This results in a softer/washed out tint versus a pronounced uniform color. Immature white hydrangeas are harvested when they are still green and sold as mini green. The regular hydrangeas are available in white, natural light blue, and natural light pink. Our sprayed variety are regular sided hydrangeas. Jumbo hydrangeas are only available in white.

Temporary pause on Purolator shipments.

Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, Purolator has been significantly impacted, resulting in service limitations to many parts of Canada.

To ensure the timely and reliable delivery of your orders, Purolator will temporarily be unavailable as a shipping option on Flowers-Direct starting Monday.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause.

If you have an existing order scheduled for delivery via Purolator, we will be contacting you directly to discuss alternative shipping options that best suit your needs.

For all new orders, we recommend selecting UPS or FedEx for prompt and reliable delivery.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this notice as soon as Purolator service resumes.
