Where Flowers are our Inspiration

Shipping & Delivery Policy

Nothing is free.  When businesses state “Free Shipping”, all the shipping costs are built into the cost of the products.  At Flowers Direct, we like to be as transparent as possible and break down the cost of the flowers and shipping.  This allows our customers to know how much money they are saving on their flowers.

Part of our commitment is to sell the freshest, highest quality flowers & greens possible.  This is achieved by offering next day delivery via FedEx, UPS or Purolator for our domestic/Canadian orders.  If next day courier service is not available to the delivery address, we unfortunately will not be able to process your order and you should receive a message stating the same when trying to place the order.  Our policy ensures the flowers you receive will be able to withstand time outside of water.  Most flowers do fine for 24 hrs, anything longer may have negative consequences on the health of the flowers. 

Your order will be shipped in dry pack boxes and is suggested someone be present to sign for the shipment and start to hydrate the flowers immediately.   Flowers Direct nor the delivery company will be responsible for damage caused due to flowers left outside.  All liability will be assumed by the customer when requesting that flowers be left at the door of an unoccupied or unattended home or business.

We have 2 types of delivery; Local Delivery within the Greater Toronto Area & Next Day Service across Canada (where available).

Local Delivery  

Local delivery within the Greater Toronto Area (defined GTA) occurs by a third party local courier as a same day delivery option. 

On the delivery date, your order is packed and picked up at approximately 10am.  The delivery personal usually starts in the west end (Mississauga / Brampton) and makes their way Eastward (South Markham/Scarborough).  Delivery times vary between 11am -3pm.  At certain times of the year, delivery can be delayed due to higher volumes. 

Delivery across Canada

Deliveries outside the Greater Toronto Area occur by FedEx, UPS or Purolator using their next day delivery service.  If next day service is not available, your order will not be possible and you will be prevented from proceeding with your order.  All of our orders are dispatched and picked up from Mississauga, Ontario.

Orders are packed on the ship date (1 day prior to delivery date) and picked up by the courier between noon & 3pm.  Once transferred, a tracking number is sent via email whereby you are able to track your delivery.  Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address to accept the order. 

Any changes/corrections to the delivery address 24 hrs prior to ship date will be accepted and performed free of charge, other wise a fee of $20* (subject to change) will be applied within 24 hrs of shipping or thereafter.  The customer will be responsible for any additional /changes in delivery fees applied by said courier.           

By placing an order with Flowers Direct, you accept and agree to FedEx’s, UPS’s and/or Purolator’s (or any other carrier used) terms of Carriage.

Delivery Days

Regular deliveries occur between Tuesday and Friday.  Saturday deliveries are not offered.  Flowers Direct does not take any responsibility to any service delays experienced as a result of the courier company, acts of god, weather delays, or mechanical issues out of our control.

Temporary pause on Purolator shipments.

Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, Purolator has been significantly impacted, resulting in service limitations to many parts of Canada.

To ensure the timely and reliable delivery of your orders, Purolator will temporarily be unavailable as a shipping option on Flowers-Direct starting Monday.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause.

If you have an existing order scheduled for delivery via Purolator, we will be contacting you directly to discuss alternative shipping options that best suit your needs.

For all new orders, we recommend selecting UPS or FedEx for prompt and reliable delivery.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this notice as soon as Purolator service resumes.
